George Reah, Chairman 2009-10

Our Chairman for 2009/10 was George Reah.

George is a management scientist. He studied Mathematics at Jesus College Oxford and Operational Research at Lancaster University Management School. He worked for large multi-national organisations in the chemical, food and finance industries. He moved to North Somerset in 1991 when he became Director of Information Technology at Clerical Medical Investment Group.

Since retirement George has been actively involved in the community. He is a Non-Executive Director of Weston Area Health NHS Trust and previously held a similar appointment at North Somerset Primary Care Trust. He is a Governor of Weston College and for 7 years served as Chair of Finance at Flax Bourton Primary School. He is the Treasurer of an organisation that raises funds to provide bursaries at his Oxford College.

George is a widower. He was married to Alma for 31 years and has two sons and four granddaughters. Apart from the family, his interests are travel, music and railways.
