Martin Harker, Chairman 2010-11

Our Chairman for 2010-11 is Martin Harker.

Martin joined Westminster Bank at Clacton-on-Sea in 1958, and worked for Nat West Bank for over 43 years. He moved to Bristol in 1994 as Regional Director for SW Region. He retired in 1999.

Martin is a magistrate on the Bristol bench, is Hon Treas. of Bristol and N. Avon magistrates assn. Hon Treas of the charity Making the Change.(supports young ex offenders aged 16-18 who are released from Ashfield prison with no fixed abode.) He was a trustee of St Peters Hospice for 10 years stepping down as Vice Chairman in 2009. He has held several roles as non exec director/chaiman within N.H.S.. since retirement.

Martin has been married to Susan for over 46 years, they have 2 children and 2 grandchildren all living in the Bristol area. His hobbies are pen collecting , supporting Bristol City F.C.. (season ticket holder), and foreign travel. They are fortunate in owning an apartment in Costa del Sol, Spain and are frequent visitors to the area.
