Keith Oxtoby

Keith is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology having spent his main career in the Electricity Supply Industry. He was born in Yorkshire but brought up in Somerset and trained with SWEB before spending his National Service with REME where he was commissioned. He then moved to the South East where he rose to be Manager of the Tunbridge Wells and then the Brighton Area after which he returned to the West Country in 1975 as the Commercial Director of SWEB. After retiring from SWEB when it was privatised Keith went on to become Director of BRAVE, the Bristol and Avon Enterprise Agency, which helps people to establish small businesses. He also was involved with the Garden Festival of Wales on behalf of SWALEC and served for six years as a Non Executive Director on the Phoenix NHS Trust which looked after people with learning difficulties. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Bristol and their President in 2000/1 before later moving on to Probus. Keith and his wife Lynette were married in 1960 and he now enjoys computing, gardening and most importantly, spoiling their grandchildren whenever possible.
