Annual Report 2011 - Marin Harker

I was delighted to be given the opportunity of taking the Chair in only my third year as a member of the club.

Membership has grown from 61 to 65 (5 new members and one member resigned due to ill health).

It is with great pleasure I can record no deaths of existing members during my year, proving the Club is in good health in more ways than one! Attendance at Club lunches averaged 40 and for Ladies' lunches 62. We enjoyed visits from Bristol Rotary Club, Brunel, and Cabot Probus Clubs during the year. The Social programme continued to provide excellent variety, and has been well supported by members and guests.

I was disappointed that I was unable to attend the holiday break to Salisbury due to prior commitments. However I was pleased to be able to attend most of the other Social events and proud that I was able to attend every Club lunch meeting during my year of office.

A list of Social events in the Archives section of the website shows the varied programme we have enjoyed. I must make special mention of our four Sunday lunches which have been growing in support and popularity. My personal thanks to Derek Farley for the excellent venues.

The key to the Club's prosperity must be fellowship and this has been cemented by the work of the Social Committee. These events bring us together in relaxed surroundings. Thanks to John Styles and his committee.

I believe the Club is in good health and we are set for the coming years. My thanks to all the officers of the Club who have made the Club the success it is.
